The freshly renovated Costero California Bar & Bistro inside the Sheraton Gateway near LAX is a far cry IMG_0097from what is traditionally thought of as a “hotel restaurant”. Walking in, the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful and massive crystal chandeliers that adorned the lobby and set the standard for the rest of my visit. Visible from the lobby, Costero gleamed while beckoning to me and my brunch senses started to tingle.

The new menu at Costero features some delicious dishes both savory and sweet and will please the most discerning palates. My favorite addition is the Roasted Asparagus with Truffle Béarnaise, which is basically a mouthful of creamy, heavenly goodness! Also notable is the Pork Belly and Brussels Sprouts with peanuts, ginger soy glaze and chili oil. The pork belly is carmelized to perfection and seemingly melts into the brussels sprouts with each bite. If you admire the marrying of textures as much as I do, these two dishes are must-haves! Other new items include Lobster Quiche, Corned Beef Hash (with purple potatoes for a pop of color) and to satisfy your sweet tooth, homemade drop doughnuts with a cinnamon glaze.

And no brunch is complete without drinks! If you’re satisfied with a traditional glass (or bottle) of bubbly, Costero has several options to choose from including Veuve Clicqiot, Chandon and one of my personal favorites, Gloria Ferrer. If you’re looking to mix things up, I highly recommend trying their signature Sheratini with St. Germain, Tito’s vodka and fresh grapefruit juice. It’s citrus and floral notes are refreshing!

Costero provided an amazing and friendly dining experience…exactly the Sunday brunch this mama needed! With an abundance of positivity and a genuine desire to please, there was no shortage of laughter amongst friends and staff. They anticipated our needs and were quick to go above and beyond our expectations.

Definitely keep Sheraton Gateway and Costero on your radar as you plan for your holiday travels. Whether you’re flying into or out of LAX it’s close proximity is a huge bonus. And did you know they also offer airport parking services? Imagine starting your vacation with a sip and a bite before jumping onto their complimentary airport shuttle and boarding your flight. Huge stress booster right there! And if all that is not enough to tempt you, guests receive exclusive access to the Sheraton Club overlooking the runway at LAX where light refreshments are served as you prepare for your meeting, flight or want a fresh point of view.

Costero is located inside the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel, 6101 West Century Blvd. in Los Angeles and is open between 11am-11pm.  Reservations can be made by calling 310-642-4820.
